Opal Ridge headlines Tattersall’s Tiara nominations
The last G1 race of the season comes up on Saturday with the running of the Tattersall’s Tiara (1400m) for the fillies and mares.
While not filled with G1 winners, it contains many who last start ran really well in good class races. Ruthless Dame ($5) is there in excellent form and she does have a major on the resume.
Others well in the betting include Opal Ridge ($3.50) who deserves a big prize, Chaillot ($8) who can pull out a big run and Chain Of Lightning ($13) who was very brave in the Stradbroke.
Nominations were extended for the G3 Tattersall’s Cup over the 2406m and some horses go up in trip while some come back this time.
Warning ($4) was fantastic in the Brisbane Cup while Desert Icon ($3) would be backing up from the Ipswich Cup last weekend. Luncies ($4) was very good too in the Q22 and now runs in a handicap.
The last major sprint of the Brisbane carnival is the G3 WJ Healy Stakes (1200m) and it can be an important lead up to races like the Ramornie at Grafton.
Prince Of Boom ($3) has to be a major contender but Big Parade ($4) has first run for the new stable. King Kapa ($4) is another with the right credentials.
Other important races on the card include the Listed Tatts Gold Crown for the fillies and mares, the Listed Life Members Stakes for the babies and the Listed Tatts Mile plus the Battle Of The Bush Final is always a highlight.
