Group 1-winning jockey suspended at Pakenham
Jockey Brad Rawiller has been suspended for eleven meetings following a careless riding charge for his actions on Air Defence in Race 8 at Pakenham on Monday.
Approaching the 50m mark, Rawiller was deemed to have failed in his efforts to maintain a straight path for his mount, resulting in All England being checked due to the tightening of space caused by the incident involving .
Despite acknowledging Rawiller’s attempts to prevent his mount from shifting ground, the Stewards determined that the incident fell within the mid-range category of carelessness.
Rawiller’s suspension will commence at midnight on July 1, 2023, and expire at midnight on July 12, 2023, encompassing three metropolitan and eight provincial meetings.
The stewards’ decision took into account Rawiller’s previously clean record in addition to his efforts to mitigate the situation.
