Nick Ryan set to unveil Irish stayer Urban Oasis

Posted by RS NewsWire at 7:23am on July 26th

Nick Ryan’s potential spring stayer, Urban Oasis, is set to make his return to the racetrack at Moonee Valley this Saturday.

The former Irish galloper will compete in the Benchmark 100 Handicap over 1600 meters.

Urban Oasis has an impressive record, with four wins from seven starts, including a victory in the Ulster Derby at Down Royal on June 18, 2022.

Ryan is cautious about committing to a spring plan for the horse and wants to assess his form in the upcoming race.

However, he has been encouraged by Urban Oasis’s recent jumpout at Flemington, where he finished last but displayed a strong sprint and finish after the line.

Ryan expressed satisfaction with the horse’s progress and is eager to see how he performs over the mile at Moonee Valley.

The trainer has a successful track record with former Northern Hemisphere gallopers, and he is hopeful for Urban Oasis’s prospects.

Ryan was also thrilled with the debut performance of two-year-old Wolfy, who finished second in the opening race at Caulfield and is being considered as a potential contender for the Caulfield Guineas.
