The Everest Carnival Preview day at Rosehill on Saturday

Posted by RS NewsWire at 1:24pm on September 4th

There are so many feature races on Saturday that will impact on the majors through the Spring that it is like The Everest Carnival Preview.

The G2 Theo Marks Stakes (1300m) sees horses who contest the big one in a few weeks as well the Epsom, Invitation and even the Big Dance.

Queensland Derby winner Kovalica ($3.50) is there to kick off his Spring but he will have company from Madame Pommery ($8), Extremely Lucky ($8) and even little The Inevitable ($15) could be up from Tassie.

We see the 3yos step out in a huge G2 Run To The Rose (1200m) with both Golden Rose and Everest implications on the line.

Slipper runner up Cylinder ($2.80) returns to Sydney to face the likes of Kandinsky Abstract ($6), the unbeaten Libertad ($4.50) and maybe the resuming Don Corleone ($11).

Another race which could see horses chasing Everest slots is the G2 Sheraco Stakes (1200m) and I Am Me ($2.80) will have plenty of admirers. But she will have to take on Zapateo ($3.50), Sunshine In Paris ($4.50) plus the Waller G1 mares Zougotcha ($6) and Espiona ($8).

Finally the G3 Ming Dynasty Quality (1400m) has some of the potential Golden Rose and onto Spring Champion horses entered. Tom Kitten ($4.50) was very good last time but he may face King Colorado ($3.50) out of G1 company. Stayers to watch like Ducasse ($11) and Cafe Millenium ($15) will have eyes for later on.

Many of the support races could also have impacts through the carnival.
