First running of the 7 Stakes features on a big day at Randwick
With the old George Main Stakes (now King Charles III Stakes) to be run on Everest day, the new 7 Stakes will take its place run under the same conditions.
It is one of two million dollar events on a massive day of carnival action at Randwick. Fangirl ($3 picklebet) tries to build on her last start G1 win in the Winx Stakes and could take on stable mates like Hinged ($8), Princess Grace ($15) and Lindermann ($15) once again.
Others of note in the entries are the old boys Think It Over ($4.50) and Zaaki ($4.50) who love racing at the big track.
The Everest has a monumental lead up with the G2 The Shorts (1100m) and many could be claiming slots after this.
Previous placegetters in the big one Private Eye ($6) and Mazu ($8) are nominated along with other big chances come October 14. They include the likes of In Secret ($3.50), Lost And Running ($8) and Buenos Noches ($6).
The G2 Tea Rose Stakes (1400m) sees the fillies start to step up in ground with the Waterhouse/Bott team having a strong hand depth wise via Autumn Ballet ($8), Platinum Jubilee ($15), Summer Loving ($11) and Tropical Squall ($8).
Epsom credentials go on the line in the G3 Bill Ritchie Handicap (1400m). Horses like Barbie’s Fox ($11), Olentia ($2.50) and Pericles ($6) will have huge admirers.
Last of the stakes races is the G3 Kingston Town Stakes (2000m) and those heading to the Metrop are likely the focus here. Manzoice ($15) is a Derby winner ready to be stoking up to these trips but hard not to like the way Just Fine ($6) went first up.
