Sydney and Melbourne form collide on Caulfield Guineas day

Three G1s on the one day highlight a superb program of action at Caulfield with the Guineas a huge prize at $3m.

The G1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) shapes as a bit of a match race with the Sydney and Melbourne form colliding. Militarize ($2.80) and Steparty ($3.50) clash in a tasty affair but could King Colorado ($8) get back to his G1 ways?

In the G1 Might And Power (2000m) it might be a Tulloch Lodge race with Alligator Blood ($2.30) and Just Fine ($4) at the top of the market. There is also a strong chance for Duais ($4.50) as well.

Another feature on the day is the G1 Toorak Handicap (1600m) where the top mare Amelia’s Jewel ($2) will be the market leader. She will have some company from Antino ($6) and maybe Amenable ($17).

Other top races on the day include the G2 Schillaci Stakes (1100m) where Asfoora tries to keep her excellent form going. She will face Ingratiating and Uncommon James as other main rivals.

The G2 Herbert Power (2400m) is a direct entry into the Caulfield Cup and the flying Brayden Star gets a chance to make the field. Cleveland would come down from NSW and Mr Waterville was well backed last time.

A couple of mares black type races will be on the card with the G3 Northwood Plume (1200m) and the G3 Ladies’ Day Vase (1600m).
